Heidelberg is a scenic city at the river Neckar, just at the border between the Odenwald and the Rhine valley. Heidelberg is a vibrant mixture of tradition and innovation. The famous university of Heidelberg attracts not only thousands of students but was and is also home to many famous philosophers and scientists, among them Hegel, Habermas, Kirchhoff, or Bunsen.

The area around Berchtesgaden is a well-known holidays resort inviting both for winter and summer activities. Among the many attractions are the Königssee ("King's Lake"), the Rossfeld panorama road, and the Kehlstein-Haus ("Eagle's Nest") which offers a stunning view of Berchtesgaden. Further, the Berchtesgadner Land is close to Salzburg, the well-known city of Mozart's birth place.

Helgoland is a tiny island in the North Sea which is special in many ways. Helgoland, a former posession of Denmark and Great Britain today belongs to Germany and was heavily fought over during World War II. After the war the then uninhabited island was used as a bombing range, forming parts of the island by one of the biggest non-nuclear explosions ever...
